Information - TS5.3 Erosion, sedimentation and landscape evolution at active ocean-continent subduction margins (co-listed in GD, GM & SSP)

Event Information
Subduction margins are places of very active erosion, sedimentation and
landscape evolution. These processes interact with human activities with
sometimes dramatic consequences. The basic knowledge of these processes and
their complex interactions under different climatic belts need to be
improved and quantified through different approaches that include:
sedimentology/stratigraphy of basin fills, geomorphology of the terrestrial
and submarine landscapes, geodynamics of the subducting interface, climatic
controls on landscape evolution and natural hazards. For this session, we
invite contributions that deal with case examples (e.g. New Zealand, South
America ...) and all aspects that explore the role of individual parameters
in active subduction margins sediment budget, and landscape evolution.
