Information - BG1.04 Biosphere-atmosphere exchange of inorganic nitrogen compounds - influence on atmospheric chemistry and climate forcing
Event Information
Inorganic nitrogen compounds include reduced forms of N (e.g. NH3 and
NH4+) and oxidised forms of N (e.g. NO, NO2, HNO3, N2O and NO3-). These
compounds can be biologically active, photochemically active and
radiatively active. The aim of the session is to provide a comprehensive
overview of the scales of fluxes of these compounds between the
atmosphere and the biosphere and their role as reactive gases. The main
emphasis should be on results of recent field campaigns and novel model
considerations.
