Information - AS3.07 Chemistry-Climate Interactions (co-listed in CL)
Event Information
This session is partly related to the SPARC initiative CCMVal, i.e. process oriented validation of Climate-Chemistry Models (CCMs). It will focus on the interaction of dynamical, physical and chemical processes in the troposphere and stratosphere. First of all, investigation of long-term measurements and numerical model studies are solicited. In particular, process oriented validation of results derived from Chemical-Transport Models (CTMs) and CCMs are most desired. The intercomparison of model results against each other and observations should help to improve our understanding of atmospheric processes and their feedback. Moreover, it shows the strengths and weaknesses of the applied model systems. Scientifically, all relevant investigations will be considered. For example, the feedback of climate change and depletion of stratospheric ozone is an important topic, especially with regards to the question of future ozone recovery.
