|
Polar regions have a unique geophysical and geodynamic environment with close interactions of the solid earth with the cryosphere, the oceans and the athmosphere and direct links to the global climate system. The investigation have been made with geodetic, geophysical, geological and glaciological observations in Arctic ad Antarctic through permanent and/or temporary observatories.
Some observation techniques should explicitely address, namely:
-GPS/GNSS;
-other space techniques (DORIS,VLBI);
-tide gauges/pressure gauges;
-tidal gravimetry;
-absolute gravimetry;
-gravimetry;
-seismology;
-geomagnetometry;
-meteorological packages.
The session is proposed to present memories on data analisys, results and interpretation of short and long-term observations.
The attention should be focused even on regional an global model generation and validation (regional geodynamics, Plate Tectonics, PGR,GIA, Global Climate System, Global Change..) based on data acquired in polar regions.
