Information - BG1.03 Biological processes and regulations related to biosphere-atmosphere exchange of trace gases (co-listed in AS)
Event Information
The biosphere releases substantial amounts of reactive trace gases such as volatile organic compounds, nitrogen oxides and reduced sulphur compounds into the atmosphere, thereby significantly contributing to chemical processes in the atmosphere. Additionally, deposition of reactive trace gases or their degradation products and their uptake by the biosphere comes to the centre of interest. Biological processes and regulations involved in the production and release as well as deposition and consumption of all these compounds are actually under intensive investigation in order to understand and model exchange processes in a more reliable way. Conference contributions regarding aspects of biosynthesis of trace compounds, their consumption and exchange regulation with the atmosphere are welcomed.
