Information - OS4 Operational Oceanography and Data assimilation

Event Information
This session will provide an overview of integrated systems and development of their components as required for operational oceanography. The topics will embrace all aspects, from observation and modeling through to prediction and ocean services, and include waves, currents, the thermohaline structure and related fields. We encourage the submission of papers describing both existing and developing operational systems. We invite papers describing entire operational systems as well as major components including regional and global models and the complementary observing systems which provide the data required for validation, verification, and assimilation, from the open ocean to the nearshore. Papers on novel modeling, instrumentation, and observing methods directed toward operational oceanography are also encouraged, this includes the use of operational data assimilation schemes and emerging data assimilation techniques suitable for operational oceanography.
