Information - NP2.05 Nonlinear cryospheric dynamics (co-listed in CR & OS)

Event Information
From the deformation of single ice grains, to the dynamics of surging glaciers and fractured sea ice, to pattern formation in glacial and periglacial geomorphology, cryospheric processes over the full range of length and time scales are characterized by nonlinearities that exert a controlling influence on the system behavior. In this session we invite contributions that focus on nonlinear forward and inverse modeling of natural cryospheric systems, with the aim of stimulating discussion between the glaciologists, oceanographers, physicists and applied mathematicians who study these complex processes.
