  Information - IS23 - HS2.3/NH2.7/CL53 Climatic and hydrological perspectives on long-term changes (co-organised by HS, NH & CL)

Event Information
Long-term changes in the climate or hydrological systems can have profound socio-economical impacts, their quantification is of paramount importance. Current climatology tends to describe such changes as a deterministic trend, whereas hydrology considers them as manifestation of a long-memory stochastic process (Hurst phenomenon).

Climatology, Hydrological Sciences and Natural Hazards research can benefit from enlarging their methods spectrum. We invite climatologists, hydrologists and scientists studying natural hazards to contribute to this aim by presenting papers combining methodology and application on:

- trend estimation (parametric, nonparametric, linear, nonlinear);
- stochastic model fitting (linear, nonlinear, long-term, short-term).
