Information - CL57 Climate variability and change in a tourism context
Event Information
Over the latter half of the 20th century, tourism has grown to be one of the world's major industries, and one of the most striking societal phenomena. Since many types of tourism depend directly on weather and climate, climate variability and change have a strong potential to affect the tourism sector. This session focusses on the interface between climate and tourism and includes presentations on climate variability, extreme weather events, climate change impacts, and climate data requirements, all in the context of tourism.
