Information - GMPV31 Advances in stable isotope geochemistry applied to magmatic and metamorphic systems (co-listed in IG)
Event Information
Stable isotope variations in geological materials may occur both at the meso and micro-scale as a result of equilibrium and/or kinetic reactions. The interpretation of light stable isotope (H, Li, B, C, N, O, S, and Cl isotope) heterogeneity is therefore a key to understand the magmatic and metamorphic processes occurring in crustal and mantle domains. The session focuses to the mechanisms producing isotopic variations, and to their meaning in the geological framework. We therefore welcome insights provided by the re-interpretation of data from classical measurements and by stable isotope data obtained by novel analytical techniques
