Information - PS6 Planetary, Solar and Heliospheric Radio Emissions

Event Information
Main goal of this session is to discuss recent developments in the study of non-thermal radio emission of the Sun, the five radio planets, the heliosphere, and from extra-solar planets. Special interest is given to observations and interpretations of radio and plasma wave phenomena in particular those observed by Cassini’s RPWS experiment. Further analyses of forthcoming (e.g. JUNO), present (e.g. Ulysses, Wind) and previous (e.g. Galileo) observations are also encouraged. Key topics also comprise solar radio emissions, particularly in view of the actual and upcoming missions like STEREO and Solar Orbiter. Ground-based observations in the decameter-to-meter wavelength range as well as new developments in the field of giant radio telescopes (e.g. LOFAR, FASR, with main emphasis on physics phenomena to be observed) comprise the observational objectives. Theoretical modelling and simulations as well as comparative studies complete the topics of this session.
