  Information - C1.2 6th Thermospheric-Ionospheric-Geospheric (TIGER) Symposium

Event Information
The TIGER Symposium is being part of the COSPAR Sub-commission C1 activity and will emphasize the unique but interrelated contributions of solar irradiance effects upon the terrestrial thermosphere and ionosphere (T/I). The general topic of the discussion will be on the T/I related solar irradiance research that complements the CIRA and IRI activities currently supported by COSPAR. Specific presentations will include reports on solar irradiance measurements, models, and proxy developments for thermosphere/ionosphere uses. There will presentations and publications, through Advances in Space Research, of solar measurements, reference spectra, models that are compliant with the draft ISO Solar IrradianceStandard 21348 "Space environment (natural and artificial)-Process for determining solar irradiances". Airglow emissions correlate well with T/I parameters such as densities or temperatures and report of aiglow modelling results, especially from TIMED mission, will be included. The detailed Scientific Program is:
1.0 Measurement of solar EUV/UV radiation
2.0 EUV/UV space instrumentation
3.0 Modelling of dolar EUV/UV radiation
4.0 Modelling of the thermosphere/ionosphere
5.0 Airglow measurements and T/I modelling.
