Information - NH11.02 Spatial prediction modeling in natural hazards and risk (Poster Only Session)
Event Information
Spatial analysis in natural hazard and risk research is getting a popular tool to delineate areas most prone for future occurrence of natural phenomena. Such natural processes include volcanic activity, extreme meteorological events, earthquake, and landslides, to name a few only. Commonly, these spatial analysis are based on numerical approaches, however, in most recent years, spatial prediction models based on both mathematical theories and expert's knowledge are being developed. This session aims to address different types of spatial prediction models for both mathematical idea-base and expert's knowledge-base not limited to a specific natural process. Researchers as well as practitioners are encouraged to present case studies and applications, conceptual ideas and new methods on the modelling of spatial predictions. In order to allow a fruitful discussion and exchange between the different disciplines we encourage a particular focus on the demonstration of the employed methodology and the data bases available for respective research or application.
