Information - ST18 Post-Cluster missions: scientific perspectives and mission concepts
Event Information
The purpose of this session is to review concepts and stimulate the imagination concerning possible post-Cluster missions and experiments. Five years after launch, Cluster is proving to be a revolutionary tool for the analysis of various magnetospheric phenomena, from shocks to magnetic reconnection, and demonstrates the pertinence of multi-spacecraft missions for quantified analysis of space plasma processes. The community has also acquired a better view of the limitations of Cluster. What should be the innovative concepts for a subsequent mission ? For what scientific objectives ? With what new instrumental or technical design ? Both theoretical and instrumental presentations are welcome.
