Information - GM2.7 To what extent is landscape evolution governed by inherited structures?

Event Information
Landscape evolution studies have tended to focus on climate-tectonic forcing and neglect the role of structural inheritance. Is this justified? The aims of this multidisciplinary session are to consider the role of inherited structures in landscape evolution and to attempt to define the tectonic and climate regimes and spatial and temporal scales over which they might be important.

This is a multidisciplinary session and contributions are sought that integrate tectonics, stratigraphy, cosmogenic isotopes, thermochronology, and geomorphology in the context of structural inheritance over a range of spatial and temporal scales. We particularly welcome case studies aimed at assessing the significance of pre-existing structures, their reactivation and contribution to landscape evolution and sediment delivery in a variety of geological settings.
