Information - AS4.01 Dynamics of the Middle Atmosphere

Event Information
This session will cover all aspects of the dynamics of the stratosphere
and mesosphere. We will hope for contributions on the propagation and
breaking of gravity waves and planetary waves,
their interactions with each other and with the mean flow and the
impact of these processes on the mean meridional circulation; the structure
and role of tides and inertial instability; the structure
and variability of the quasi-biennial oscillation, its interaction
with the solar cycle and influences on extratropical variability; the
variability of the winter polar vortices; and dynamical feeedbacks
associated with climate change.
Furthermore, we invite contributions considering the consequnces of
changing dynamical process on the tranport of trace constituents in the
middle atmosphere.
Theoretical, numerical and observational studies will be welcome.
