Information - FW2 High Resolution Forecasting Systems for the Prediction of Severe Weather
Event Information
Meteorology and weather forecasts including those of severe weather are becoming increasingly important in an ever more complex world. Accurate weather forecasts are of major importance for the safety of life and property and the reduction of the impact of natural disasters. A crucial and common element in the research plans of operational and research centres is the goal to increase the resolution of global and regional forecasting systems in order to improve the representation of severe weather phenomena and the accuracy and fidelity of output products.
The Convenors will welcome papers on all aspects of high-resolution models for weather prediction systems in particular papers on:
- High resolution global forecasting systems
- High resolution Limited Area synoptic-scale and meso-scale forecasting systems
- Boundary condition strategies for limited area modelling
