Information - IS61 - ST9/SM25 Synergies in terrestrial and solar seismology (co-organized by ST & SM)
Event Information
This joint ST/SM session discusses applications of acoustical imaging in
geophysics (terrestrial seismology and underwater acoustics) and in
astrophysics (helioseismology). One important goal is to identify topics for
which exchange of knowledge between the different science communities is
desirable. Such topics may include data analysis techniques, retrieval of
Green's functions using cross-correlations of ambient noise, computations of
travel-time sensitivity kernels, normal modes, numerical simulations of wave
propagation in complex media, large-scale inverse problems, etc.
Conveners: Laurent Gizon and Nikolai Shapiro
