Radon, due to the combination of its noble gas character and its radioactive decay, is a unique ultra-trace component for tracking temporally varying natural processes in the Earth's system. This session aims to promote the interdisciplinary discussion on all aspects of radon research, from basic science and experimental laboratory investigations, data processing and geophysical interpretation, to applications in geodynamics, tectonics, volcanology, hydrology and atmospheric studies, as well as applications in the field of natural hazards. Contributions addressing the use of radon as a tracer of dynamic geophysical processes in the Earth, as well as contributions dealing with basic aspects of measuring and monitoring radon in natural environments, are particularly encouraged.
