The Mohorovicic discontinuity, 'M' or 'Moho', marks the boundary between the earth's crust and the mantle. It was first identified in 1909 by Andrija Mohorovicic as an abrupt increase in the velocity of the seismic waves. Since its discovery it has been one of the most investigated targets in Earth sciences. A relatively large number of project have been devoted to determine its topography, (i.e. geometry), internal architecture and nature in different areas characterized by different ages, evolution and tectonic regimes. This symposium is intended to address questions like: What do we know about the Moho ?, Does it change with time ?, Is it a phase transition ?, Are there two Moho's a petrologic one and a seismic one ?. Studies involving geophysical, geological and petrological constraints on the nature, and structure of the crust-mantle boundary are welcome.
