  Information - PLC9 Hydrological Processes

Event Information
In recent years, research developments in hydrology benefit from broad interactions and advances within a variety of fields (e.g.: climatology, meteorology, geomorphology, remote sensing, statistics, and informatics). Within this multidisciplinary framework, this session will collect contributions on research, application advances, and future needs in the understanding and modeling of surface and near-surface hydrological processes. While the emphasis is on the ability to describe and understand extreme events, contributions which focus on hydrological processes and one ore more of the following issues are particularly welcomed:

• representation and modeling at different spatial and temporal scales;
• modeling strategies, model comparison, and model ensembles;
• relation between hydrological properties and model parameter identification and calibration;
• experimental studies and field observations;
• predictions in poorly monitored basins;
• data assimilation;
• short-term and long-term behaviors;
• role of hydrological descriptors in statistical analysis;
• similarity and pattern recognition.
