Information - BG6.09 Surface Ocean Lower Atmosphere Study Session (co-listed in AS, CL & OS)
Event Information
The new international research initiative SOLAS (Surface Ocean-Lower Atmosphere Study) aims to achieve quantitative understanding of the key biogeochemical-physical interactions and feedbacks between the ocean and the atmosphere, and to understand how this coupled system affects and is affected by climate and environmental change. Contributions to this session are welcome in any area related to biogeochemical and physical processes at the air-sea interface, either on the theoretical, modelling or experimental aspects. The session objectives are to report on progress made on the knowledge of the state and variability of marine biogeochemistry, gas exchange rates, atmospheric trace gas chemistry and transport, and climate.
