  Information - PLC13 Societal Impacts & Responses

Event Information
In the last decade the need to be protected from natural and man made disasters emerged in the common law as a personal right. The impacts of natural hazards on the society at large, and the social responses, have to be analyzed from this vantage point, involving scientists of different expertise in a real multidisciplinary task. Increasing the capacity of taking care of chains of impacts arising from different physical and social effects improves the adaptation and resilience of the society in front of natural hazards. The aim of the session is to take in: contributions devoted to the analysis of societal impact and responses, experiences from different countries, well documented case study reports of all kind of hazards due to Mediterranean Storms and to deeply discuss them.
