Information - GMPV15 Metamorphic and magmatic consequences of ultra-deep subduction

Event Information
Ultra-deep subduction of the Earth's crust to the depths ranging from hundred kilometres to core-mantle boundary has recently been recognized on the basis of petrological, geochemical and geophysical observations. Within our cross-disciplinary Session we hope to bring together scientists who are doing petrology, geophysics and geochemistry, on the one hand, and experts in numerical modeling of dynamic processes, on the other. We suggest discussing metamorphic and magmatic signatures and geodynamic consequences of ultra-deep crust subduction and invite contributions on critical petrological, geochemical and geophysical data, geodynamic concepts, numerical and analogue models.
