Information - GM16 Challenges in geomorphological methods and techniques

Event Information
Technical innovations in recent years have enabled unraveling new details and complexities of geomorphological phenomena. Fields of challenges are present in all aspects of geomorphic research across all spatial and temporal scales, and include field techniques, laboratory analysis but also modeling tools. Remote sensing, for example, has become increasingly important for studying large objects at high spatial resolution, and advances in chronometric techniques enable new applications at both, high resolution and long temporal coverage.

This session aims to address advances and new challenges of different methods and techniques to determine and analyze geomorphological processes and forms. Researchers as well as practitioners are encouraged to present new conceptual ideas and new methods. We would like to stimulate discussion between ‘developers’ and ‘users’ and like to encourage a particular focus on case studies and applications that demonstrate applicability and limitations of an approach.
