Information - MPRG07 Open session in rock magnetism and paleomagnetism
Event Information
This open session welcomes contributions from both fields of rock and paleomagnetism, with the primary objective of linking these two important topics and focus on the strong interaction between them. Many studies have pointed out the necessity of combining excellent paleomagnetic studies with studies on the identification of the magnetic carriers of the rocks. Additional environmental implications are powerful in completing the stratigraphic and tectonic interpretations and raise possibilities to correct for regional differences when attempting magnetic proxy parameter correlations. The paleomagnetic studies set the time frame for the identified environmental processes. Studies of terrestrial and marine archives relating to both fields are all welcome, particularly we’d like to encourage contributions from combined investigations.
