  Information - IS25 - HS10.4/NH2.6 Floodplain mapping and flood prevention techniques (co-organised by HS & NH)

Event Information
Floodplain mapping and flood prevention techniques

Numerical models predicting floodplain inundation have proved to be useful tools in floodplain management, flood risk assessment and understanding sediment dynamics. In the latest years, an increased socioeconomic relevance of river flood studies and a shift of these studies towards integrated flood risk management concepts triggered the development of complex methodologies for the simulation of the hydraulic behaviour of river systems.

Papers that address one or more of the following questions are solicited:
-floodplain dynamic and modelling;
-floodplain mapping;
-uncertainty in flood inundation predictions;
-remotely sensed data into flood inundation models;
-flood prevention techniques.
