Information - NH5.6 Remote sensing and GIS techniques in identifying earthquake prone areas and in assessing earthquake damage in urban areas(co-listed in TS)
Event Information
Dealing with geo-hazards is a significant contribution of geo-sciences to humanity. Earthquakes in particular result in vast losses of human life as well as property and infrastructure. Satellite image data are ideal tools to map fault patterns, identify fracture zones, and delineate the effects of earthquakes. Applying GIS techniques to these data allows their correlation and timely use by decision makes. Research results in these fields from diverse environments throughout the world are invited. Submitted contributions may be in the form of oral presentations or poster papers.
