Information - OS2 Open session on Shelf Seas, Coastal Seas and Estuaries (co-listed BG)
Event Information
The session provides a forum for discussions of recent developments in
the study of physical processes over the continental shelf, shelf break
and continental slope.Contributions are invited on both theoretical and
observational aspects of material and energy exchanges caused by
currents, eddies, tides, and turbulence. Special attention will be given
to sediment transport processes in the marine environment and
implications of climate change for shelf sea. In this session we
encourage discussions of pump-priming projects and innovative ideas.
Presentations of inter-disciplinary research linked to bio-geo-chemistry
are welcome. A few subsessions are foreseen dealing with regional
studies such as the Baltic, Black and Mediterranean Seas, Atlanic and
Arctic seas, as well as theory and modelling of sediment transport and
morphodynamics.
