Information - SM16 New Advances in Real Time Seismology and Data Mining
Event Information
New data are being created in seismology at an unprecedented rate,
even further increasing in the near future. Additionally, most of the data is nowadays trsmitted in quasi real time making it possible to analyse the data more rapidly and providing vitla information shortl after an earthquake.
Traditionally, seismologists
look at all waveforms recorded by their observatory or at all traces
required for their research project. This "manual" approach will not be
possible in the future and a paradigm shift in how we extract parameters
and information from continuous streams and vast amount of data is
eminent. We would like to invite contributions from a broad spectrum
from seismology, reaching from basic software development for routine
observatory analysis to highly specialized research topics.
