This session focuses on recent developments in any aspects of methods and applications of computational wave propagation. Special emphasis is given on (1) algorithms that allow simulations on unstructured or adaptive grids; (2) extreme model complexities (e.g., rough topography, non-planar faults, strong heterogeneities); (3) non-standard rheologies (e.g., porous media, visco-plasticity); and (4) innovative implementations (e.g., www-based techniques, GRID execution). The session is sponsored by the EU funded SPICE network (www.spice-rtn.org).
