Event Information
Forecasts of climatic means and extremes will be discussed in this session, based both on dynamical and statistical approaches or a combination of these. The session will cover topics like ensemble forecast generation, multi-model approaches, initialization, verification, physical mechanisms for skill and predictability, downscaling, and calibration of the forecasts, and links to end user applications. An ENSEMBLES open session.
