Event Information
This session addresses all aspects of the atmospheric environment relevant for human health and questions about well being, arising from heat exchange, solar radiation and air pollution. It focuses on information needed to improve public understanding of relevant environmental issues and to enable people to take actions to minimize adverse environmental effects or stress. Linkages between human health and the weather and climate are the main focus of this session, including use of favourable climatic conditions for the strengthening of the organism and the healing of illnesses (climatic cures and spa resorts).
Also intercomparison between different thermal indices is part of this session.
The session further includes presentations on pollen concentration forecasts and pollen warnings. Air pollution and its impact on human health, but also measures to mitigate this impact are within aims of this session.
Further more papers are particularly welcome on urban climatology with applications for planning authorities, decision makers and the general public.
Finally the session aims to analyze data required to serve the tourist industry and tourists. Particularly papers on climate change impacts on tourism are invited.
