Information - TS7.1 Orogen-basin coupling in intracontinental orogenic setting
Event Information
During late stages of continent-continent collision, flexural and collapse sedimentary basins are being formed in sequence that can be used to monitor processes within uprising mountain belts, deformation at mountain-basin interface and climate change. In this session, we intend to bring together recent results from studies of basin–mountain coupling processes, particularly from the northern margin of the Tibetan-Himalayan-Alpine mountain range and, for comparison, from ancient orogens like Variscides.
