  Information - HS19 Remote sensing in hydrology: space observations and field experiments (co-listed in AS & CL)

Event Information
This session will bring together advances in hydrological remote sensing focusing on recent satellite data and field experiments, with special emphasis on water cycle at different spatial and temporal scales. There have been several new satellites launched recently, e.g. Envisat, Terra and Aqua, which have sensors that make observations of hydrologically relevant quantities. In addition there have been numerous field experiments which have brought together data measured from different platforms, including tower-, aircraft-, and satellite-based measurements. Contributions are solicited that report the results from these varied measurements from the satellites and the field experiments, the use of remote sensing in hydrology, the integration of remotely sensed measurements with in-situ measurements at different scales, and the application of remote sensing methods to water cycle studies.
