for establishing the importance of computational mineral physics in Earth sciences and for outstanding contributions to the physics of the Earth's core.
Resumé:
We would like to nominate Prof. G. David Price for the Louis Neél Medal. We have known David for many years first from his works, then from working in his group fro many years, and now as a foreign colleague and friend. David Price's work has earned him great respect both from physicists and Earth scientists and established theory and computer simulation as a major tool to study Earth-forming materials and the deep interior of our planet. David's exceptional pedagogical and organisational skills have been a major factor in promoting Britain as the world's centre of excellence in mineral physics.
