Information - MPRG1 Space and surface measurements of the geomagnetic field

Event Information
With the launch of Ørsted (1999), CHAMP and the Ørsted-2 experiment
onboard SAC-C (2000), there are now three satellites in the LEO orbit
measuring the scalar and vector magnetic fields at the nT accuracy
level. These unique datasets are widely used in connection with the
ground-based measurements in order to improve our knowledge of the
Earth's magnetic field and its variations. The objective of the session is to
bring together scientists from the satellite and observatory communities to
present their data and results on external current systems, the main
field, induction studies and crustal fields. Presentations are solicited to
describe the utilisation, analysis, and interpretation of these two
complementary datasets.
