Event Information
"This session on Gender Equality will address the issue of gender mainstreaming, in particular within the meteorological and related communities. Gender mainstreaming is the integration of the gender perspective into every stage of policy processes.
Successful initiatives and events have been established by the World Meteorological Organization, many universities and other public bodies. EU policy on gender equality takes a comprehensive approach that includes legislation, mainstreaming and positive actions.

This session will summarize what has been achieved as well as discuss the
directions and perspectives of future developments and actions.

Contributions on
- examples of good practice
- general overview of achievements
- (remaining) problems
- the next steps, required future developments, perspectives
- embedding of actions in the wider societal context
- important advice for female scientists at the start of their career
are welcome.
In particular we ask all authors to design their presentations in
a way to stimulate discussions.

The main purpose is to encourage women to develop their professional career in the meteorological field and facilitate the professional network building."
