Information - BG5.09/CL49 Climate variability and the carbon cycle (past, present and future): The EuroCLIMATE Programme on multi-proxy reconstructions and coupled climate models at European and regional scales (co-organized by CL) (co-listed in CR & SSP) (including Outstanding Young Scientists & Vladimir Ivanovich Vernadsky Medal Lectures)

Event Information
EuroCLIMATE is an ESF-EUROCORES programme that calls for basic research addressing climate variability and the carbon cycle (past, present and future), and in particular their interrelationship, in a European framework. Multi-proxy reconstructions from all available archives bring the marine, the terrestrial and the ice-core communities together on crosscutting issues, such as obtaining a common timeframe, and will allow coupled climate models used for global warming scenarios to be validated on European and regional scales. In this session, we invite contributions to those themes. EuroCLIMATE is supported particularly by research funding agencies from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden, and by the European Science Foundation through contract No. ERAS-CT-2003-980409 of the European Commission, DG Research, FP6.
