  Information - IS54 - SM2/TS15 Towards a view of the 4D evolution of Europe (co-organized by SM &TS)

Event Information
In this session, we will try to link studies focussing on the crust and lithospheric mantle with observations of the present-day topography of Europe and its evolution through time. As part of the TopoEurope programme a variety of regional activities, e.g. TopoIberia and TopoScandia, have been initiated over the last years to unravel the processes forming the landscape of Europe. We invite integrated studies based on geophysical, e.g. seismological, potential fields, GPS, and geological as well as geomorphological and geochronological observations, which address the evolution of the European topography. Are the mechanisms that shape the uplift of Europe a patchwork of different effects, or do exist major underlying lithospheric processes?
