Special Session
  Information - AW8 Agrometeorology

Event Information
The aims and scope of the session are to collect papers showing the
results of application of meteorological and climate information for
agriculture, horticulture, and agro-environment including the fishery and
use of meteorological information in forestry. Also, special attention will be focused on feedback between climate and phenology as well as agricultural production. Presentations are invited in following areas:
· methods of measurements and data collection in
agrometeorology, evapotranspiration and soil water availability and irrigation models as well as frost protection warning methods, agrometeorological
modelling, crop models, parameterisation/modelling of meteorologically
induced diseases and pests, connections to operational warning systems of pests and diseases weather scenarios and weather generators in
agricultural theory and practice, agrometeorological information supporting
decision making in agricultural production, methods and techniques of plant
protection in extreme weather conditions and events (hail, frost, drought,
strong wind), end-user-software developed for agrometeorological purposes, administrating meteorological and biological data sets for purposes of agro meteorology, homogenisation of long series of data of meteorological and biological nature, SVAT (soil-vegetation-atmosphere-transfer) models, LAM (Local Area Models) as an input to micro meteorological and crop models;
· use of modern techniques as application of remote sensing technique (satellite and airborne surface temperature or radar precipitation measurements) and geographical information system (GIS) in the parameterisation of crop models on improvement of measurements and mapping of land properties for
regional land cover, soil moisture or surface albedo. Papers are welcome
not only in the pre-processing methods of the necessary input data but in
the spatialisation of model results;
· impact of global change (at the local and global scale) on the timing of recurring seasonal patterns (developmental stages of plants and animals), initiation of plant growth, plant development through stages, appearance and departure of migrating birds, timing of animal breeding, phenological networking, standardization of observing practices, phenological modelling, phenology and gas exchange (analysis of measured CO2 and H2O fluxes), use of phenological information in agriculture.
· climate scenarios and crop modelling; modelling climatologically induced diseases and pests; climate and climate change impact on agricultural production; application of agroclimatic indices and models to assess the impacts of climate and hazards on agriculture; past, present and future trend of agroclimatic indices and models; climate change impact on animals; agricultural production in extreme climate conditions; end-user-software developed for agroclimatological purposes.
