Notionally, the four sub-sessions would focus on scientific themes and technical issues concerning hazardous storm research in the context of evolving GPM and GWC observational capabilities and both current and future GPM-GWC datasets. The sub-sessions would address: (1) use of rapidly evolving GPM and GWC observational capabilities and datasets to improve physical understanding and prediction of individual hazardous storms, (2) optimization of measuring strategies of GPM and GWC observational programs, as well as of upcoming GPM Constellation Mission (and other closely related hydrologic missions), as they pertain to monitoring hazardous storms and to assimilating remotely-sensed hydrologic storm data into environmental prediction models, (3) examination of implications of climate and GWC changes on climatologies of hazardous storms (vis-à-vis such variables as storm location, track, intensity, frequency, duration, extreme event occurrence, and properties of incipient development and genesis), and (4) development of new methodologies and exploitation of new opportunities for hazardous storm research in context of evolving and next generation GPM and GWC datasets
