Information - SPM50 Progress in Geoscientific Time Series Analysis

Event Information
This splinter meeting will contain short presentations intended to stimulate additional scientific discussions during the NP4 poster session in the following block. All colleagues working on time series analysis in any discipline of the geosciences are cordially invited to participate both actively and passively.

Scientists presenting their work in the NP4 poster session, but also other interested people are kindly asked to apply for a short presentation (approx. 3-5 minutes) by writing an informal email to the splinter meeting organizer as soon as possible. The available time slots will be allocated on a first come - first serve way, presentations related to the NP4 poster session will be however given certain preference.

Preliminary List of Solicited Speakers
Preliminary list of confirmed presentations:

Thomas Laubrich: "Instationarity of the increment distribution of boundary layer wind speed" (NP4.01, A0474)

Manfred Mudelsee: "Climate spectrum estimation, aliasing and timescale errors: Algorithms and application to stalagmite and ice core records" (NP4.02, A0483)

Reik Donner: "Scale-resolved phase coherence analysis and the north-south asymmetry of solar activity" (NP4.01, A0472)

Peter Kovacs: "Study of the nonlinear relation between the magnetosphere and solar wind dynamics" (NP4.01, A0473)

Dieter Ihrig: "Detection of climate trends from local time series using a Monte-Carlo-enhanced filtering process" (NP4.02, A0491)
