Information - GB2 Energy Options and Carbon Capture & Sequestration in View of Global Warming

Event Information
This panel/debate and/or Union Session shall discuss
what could be a cost-efficient energy mix that
meets the EU Commission's climate target
(to limit global warming to 2C w.r.t. pre-industrial
values). The Discussion should explicitly
address the role of carbon capture and sequestration (CCS)
as a global warming mitigation option, its
geological potential, potential risks and possible
insurance schemes.

The debate should provide the audience with an
integrated view over energy demand & resources,
CCS, cost and risk aspects of various options.
The ultimate goal is to help to distill mitigation
strategies with transparent cost & risk structure.
