AC1 – ExxonMobil Short Course - 14 & 15 April 2007
"Sequence Stratigraphic Concepts Applied to Integrated Basin Analysis"

ExxonMobil is conducting a two day short course entitled "Sequence Stratigraphic Concepts Applied to Integrated Basin Analysis" prior to the General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) on 14 and 15 April 2007. It is designed to teach students both the fundamentals and applications of sequence stratigraphy and basin analysis as they relate to hydrocarbon exploration and development. On completion of the course, participants will understand the geological processes underlying the concepts of sequence stratigraphy and basin development and from them how to predict hydrocarbon play elements.

The course will be taught by Vitor Abreu and Bob Stewart of ExxonMobil and will comprise both lectures and practical work. Vitor is an expert sequence stratigrapher and a 2007 AAPG Distinguished Instructor. Bob is a member of the ExxonMobil Global Recruiting and New Hire Development organisation.

Sessions on both days will take place between 09:00 and 17:00 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Wagramer Strasse 21, A-1220 Wien. The course is only open to postgraduate students and is free of charge. Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. To book your place, please send your CV and contact details to Dave Cook on dave.r.cook@exxonmobil.com as soon as possible. The closing date for applications is 16 March 2007.
