Information - A0.1 Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS): Which Role for Science, Which Benefits for Society?
Event Information
The nations of the world have engaged into a process aimed at establishing a Global Earth Observation System of Systems.
The main goal is to create the basis of sustained, consistent observations of the Earth atmosphere, ocean and land surface with a view to improve the well-being of mankind.
Earth science has a role to play, both as a provider and a user of GEOSS.
The proposed event will be a panel discussion involving scientists and managers from both developed and developing countries in order to assess the contributions and benefits that can be expected for/by science and society.
