Information - BG5.08 Natural and anthropogenic environmental change as evidenced in high-resolution continental archives (co-listed in CL)

Event Information
Environmental archives on the continents record past changes in the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and anthroposphere on different temporal and spatial scales. The analysis of biotic and abiotic proxies in natural archives such as lake and mire deposits, loess, tree-rings, and speleothems allows the reconstruction of processes and mechanisms of environmental change on annual to millennial time-scales during different parts of Earth’s history.

For this session oral and poster presentations are invited that (preferably) present multi-proxy studies of past environmental change (climate, human impact, as well as biotic and abiotic system responses) as recorded in one or several continental archives on annual, decadal, centennial and millennial time-scales.
