Information - TS10.2 Tectonic evolution of Tethys in the Eastern Mediterranean Region

Event Information
This multidısciplinary session focuses on new results concerning the tectonic development of Tethys (Palaeotethys and Neotethys) in the Eastern Mediterranean regıon (extending from the Balkans in the west to Iran in the east). Relevant aspects include continental riftıng, ocean spreading, subduction, ophiolite genesis, arc magmatism, ophiolite emplacement and continental collision. Contributions may draw on a range of subjects areas including geochemistry, metamorphism, sedimentation and geophysics. Papers that focuses on fundamental tectonic-related processes and which develop and test alternative tectonic hypotheses are particularly welcome.
