Information - US8 Young Talents in Geosciences Symposium (by invitation only)
Event Information
The European Geosciences Union (EGU) plans to give special recognition to young scientists who have shown significant achievements in any field of geosciences.
Beginning with the annual EGU General Assembly 2005, which will take place 24 - 29 April 2005 in Vienna, Austria, EGU will organize a special Union Session within the EGU General Assembly, in which such talented young scientists are given a platform to report on their work and to meet established geoscientists.
All national scientific associations in Europe that bestow awards upon young scientists for their significant scientific achievements in any area of geosciences and planetary and space sciences covered by EGU are invited to nominate their awardees for 2004
Nominees will be granted free attendance to the EGU General Assembly 2005 and they will receive a travel grant of 500 Euro. Up to 20 minutes will be allocated for their presentation in the Union Session. Thus besides recognizing young talents and introducing them to European Geosciences, national prizes and medals will thereby achieve a European dimension.
Nominations for the EGU General Assembly 2005 should be forwarded by completing the Young Talents in Geosciences Nomination Form and they should reach the EGU Office before 31 December 2004.
Nominations received later will be considered for the EGU General Assembly 2006.
