Information - BG1.03 Biological processes related to trace gas emissions. (co-listed in AS) (co-sponsored by iLEAPS)

Event Information
The biosphere releases substantial amounts of reactive trace gases such as volatile organic compounds, nitrogen oxides and reduced sulfur compounds into the atmosphere, thereby significantly contributing to the chemical processes in the atmosphere. Additionally, the deposition of reactive trace gases or their degradation products and their uptake by the biosphere is experiencing increasing interest. Biological processes and regulations involved in the production, release as well as deposition are currently under intensive investigation in order to understand and model exchange processes in a more reliable way. Conference contributions regarding aspects of biosynthesis, consumption and exchange of trace compounds with the atmosphere are welcomed.
